Many people are planning fall events and activities, and there is a lot of excitement in store for the residents and visitors of North Georgia. The northern part of the state is home to some of the most unique state fairs and festivals. Let’s look at some of the best options to consider for your family this year!

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is one of the most well-known festivals in the US, so you don’t want to miss out on the chance to partake. The festival runs from September 10 through October 30, so there is plenty of time to plan and attend. Beginning September 29, the festival will operate daily through the month of October.

You want to make accommodations in or around Helen, Georgia, to attend the festival. There are cabin rentals available for groups of any size, but refer to the company’s cabin rental policies to obtain accommodation recommendations.

Georgia Apple Festival

Located in Ellijay, Georgia, the Georgia Apple Festival runs on two separate weekends in October. The first opportunity to attend is October 8 and 9, and the following weekend is October 15 and 16.

The Georgia Apple Festival features hundreds of unique vendors with games, delicious food, handcrafts, and woodcrafts. It’s an all-around good time and a great family event for family members of all ages.

North Georgia State Fair

The North Georgia State Fair is a grand event you don’t want to miss. Creeping in on its 89th year running, the North Georgia State fair will run from September 22 through October 2, and features free attractions, fair food, performances, amusement rides, live music, and much more.

The fair is estimated to attract over 300,000 people, so consider purchasing tickets in advance. The attraction is in Marietta and serves much of North Georgia, as well as neighboring cities and states.

Mountain Fall Festival

Located right here in the heart of Blue Ridge, Georgia, the Georgia Mountain Fall Festival is a small attraction that draws big attention. The event takes place on the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds and features breathtaking views, arts and crafts, musical performances, and delicious food vendors. This 9-day event runs from October 7 through the 15, and admission is $12 at the gate.
